The United Indonesia Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Committee (KOPITU) held a Webinar via Zoom with the theme SMEs 20 “The Benefits of Indonesian Chairmanship in the G20 for SMEs.
This webinar was attended by Sudaryomo Hartosudarmo (Ambassador of LBBP RI to Brazil 2010-2015), Nyoman Adhiarna (Director of Digital Economy of the Ministry of Communication and Information), and moderated by the general chairman of KOPITU Yoyok Pitoyo.
On this occasion, Sudaryomo presented the introduction of the Indonesian Presidency in the G20 and its benefits for SMEs.
Also, on this occasion, the General Chairperson of KOPITU would like to emphasize and believe that SMEs can play an important role and must be able to become SMEs Engagement Group 20 (SME20) and the formation of a Policy Paper, considering that in this Covid 19 pandemic situation, SMEs are the ones who play an important role in national economic growth.
This is strongly supported by Sudaryomo, who is ready to oversee the idea of SMEs to be part of the Indonesian Presidency Engagement Group at the G20.
In line with Sudaryomo’s explanation, the Director of the Digital Economy of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics also gave an introduction to the benefits that SMEs can take and is ready to oversee SME problems related to digitization and the SME data bank that is widely misused. Supported by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, which is currently drafting the SME data protection law.
Of course, SMEs should not be underestimated and must be able to take part in the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 in 2022.
“As one of the main drivers of the economy, especially in Indonesia, SMEs must certainly take the momentum of a golden opportunity that will not be repeated in 20 years. For this reason, Indonesia has the right to propose 20 SMEs in the Engagement Group, so that a Policy Paper can be formed. In the future, concrete benefits can be felt for all UKM members of the G 20,” said Yoyok Pitoyo as General Chair of KOPITU. (*)
